I was just playing halo 3 online and had teamed up with some French guys and was having fun.

I then checked my email during a slow moment in the match and….

Thats exactly what happened, i shot lasers out of my eyes and went HOLY SHIT!

Cause i got the job at Crytek! HELL YEAH!!

So its official, i am walking on sunshine.

Ok i’m back from the depths of working on stuff to show Crytek in the meeting i had with them last week Wednesday.

Also had a few days to recover and get back some normal sleeping patterns.

The interview with Crytek went really well and things are looking promising, i should be hearing back from them hopefully some time next week.

In the mean time i’ll revive this blog which had sort of been set aside in the interest of focusing on getting a job

So to kick things off here is the stuff i did to show Crytek.

A simple look at texturing, more for my benefit really, also testing out the normal map generation from within ZB.

A sort of environment set, jungle cliff wall with vines and an old secret bunker door.

I’m really hapy with this one, a stone pillar thingy, which would go on the facade of a building. (so that smooth block is a sort of place holder for a facade and not indicative of the actual pillar.

and finally the mutant guy, with no new work done, just a new shader that helps bring out some of its better parts. I’m unsatisfied with this model and will start it over and really push the pose and design. But it was good as a learning/practice session.

Now its starting to come together :)

Well after working on the arm again today..and not really feeling happy with the direction i eventually decided to move onto the rest of the body.

that turned out to be a great move as the feel i am looking for started to block itself in very easily, and that leads directly into the arm. Bad news is I erased a lot of what I’d done on the arm but lesson learnt!

So now things are really starting to roll and i expect some good progress tomorrow.

I made the meat mix last night and had it setting/infusing in the fridge over night..ground beef, onions, tabasco, pepper, egg, crumbs etc etc.. and of course buns, lettuce, tomato, pickles and avocado..oh and of course oven chips

If it all goes to plan I’ll upload a photo hehehe.

Arm Progress Report

Ok, so the mutant hit Zbrush full speed this morning..i spent a long time just getting into the “zone” and only have one portion of his body done to a level that i’m more or less pleased with.

I find it takes a while to sort of get into the ZB mindset, After doing a lot of stuff to the arm and erasing it and so on..i think i finally started to go somewhere. Its like you have get to know the model, and understand how you will approach it.

Anyway, here’s the progress, not great..but enough for now.

Yay for great news!

And as far as news goes i have a great one

I got a reply from Crytek and i have a meeting set up with them Wednesday the 4th at 4pm!!!

so i have a week and a half to work on new stuff to show them..lets get cracking!

Oh and also as a side note…check this

If you start the week on sunday (as they do here) Wednesday is the 4th day of the week,

So 4th day, on the 4th at 4pm O_o

444. 4+4+4=12

12 divided by 4=3

Its also the 6th month.

12 divided by 6=2

which gives us all the parts to make 23!!!

AHHHH JIM CARRY WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!

Also you should probably see “the Number 23″ if you haven’t or else this just looks like the mad ravings of a paranoid lunatic….yes….thats just what it “looks” like.

Once the face is done then its onto to Zbrush and the detailing..lets see how it goes.

Buttocks Candy?

I came across this Candy a while back..in the midst of all the normal stuff, coke bottles, mock fruit, cars, animals etc..then just out of left field drops in the mystery Ear Buttocks!

I really can’t make out what else it could be..just looks like an ass..with ears O_o

Will wonders never cease?

Anyway just in case you think i spend all my days discovering strange anatomical candy, here is a sneak peek of the new model i’m working on to continue my reel, only this time more targeted at Games..mind you here’s hoping some of the people i spoke to at FMX actually get back to me :/
